Getting started
From inviting Marin to having your first module running, in five steps.
1. Invite Marin
Go to /invite and pick your server. To add a bot you need the Manage Server permission; that's a Discord rule, not ours.
The link asks for the Administrator permission. Marin creates channels, manages roles, applies timeouts and reads the audit log, so asking for Administrator is simpler than asking for fifteen separate permissions. You can take it away later, but whatever depends on those permissions will stop working, and the web dashboard will tell you what's missing.
2. Move Marin's role up
Discord only lets a bot touch roles and members that sit below its own role. Go to Server Settings → Roles and drag Marin's role above the roles it has to give (phases, verified, blacklist, top players) and the people it has to be able to moderate.
If a command says it couldn't change a role because of hierarchy, it's almost always this.
3. Open /setup
Type /setup in any channel. Only you can see the menu, and you need to be an Administrator to open a module.
- If you want Marin in English, start with Idioma / Language. Otherwise it stays in Spanish.
- Set up Profile and Leaderboard. Score, Ranking and challenges depend on them.
- Move on to whatever you'll use: Ranking, Score, Verification, Moderation…
- Each screen tells you what's required and what isn't.
4. Or do it from your browser
Everything in /setup is also in the web dashboard. Sign in with Discord, pick the server and go module by module. It lists the servers where Marin is and where you're the owner, an administrator or were given dashboard access.
5. Try a command
/profileIf you don't have a profile yet, Marin tells you how to make one. The rest of the commands are in the command index.
